At Steve Avey Gardens, gardening isn’t just a job — it’s a lifelong passion.
Steve’s love for gardens began as a teenager in Perth, working at a local garden centre and developing a deep appreciation for plants, landscaping, and outdoor spaces. Although life later led him into a 10-year career in security, the passion for gardening never faded.
Determined to return to what he truly loved, Steve joined a highly respected gardening and landscape company on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Over the next 18 years, he worked across a diverse range of properties including commercial sites, strata complexes, aged care facilities, and residential homes — from small family gardens through to multi-million-dollar estates. Through hard work, dedication, and exceptional attention to detail, Steve progressed into management and was eventually gifted a percentage of the business.
As our family grew, so did the desire for a lifestyle change. After many holidays visiting the Sunshine Coast, we knew this was the community we wanted to become part of and build our future in.
Today, Steve brings decades of hands-on experience, passion, and pride into every project he undertakes. His work ethic is second to none, and he is deeply committed to delivering reliable, high-quality gardening services with care and consistency. More than just maintaining gardens, Steve believes in building long-term relationships with his clients and taking genuine pride in seeing projects grow and evolve over many years.
Even after a full day’s work, you will still find Steve tending to our own gardens, exploring local nurseries, or finding inspiration in beautiful outdoor spaces. Known for his cheeky personality, genuine nature and love of a good laugh, Steve brings authenticity to every client interaction.
